September Job Growth

Wall Street was expecting an increase of 150,000 jobs for September but was surprised when the actual number came in at 254,000. Other aspects of the report were positive as the Unemployment Rate dipped from 4.2% to 4.1% and, for the first time this year, the previous two months were revised up by 72,000. Average Hourly Earnings (AHE) increased by 0.4% in September and rose by 4.0% in the last 12 months.
